Ok I don't know how much credit to give this site since it doesn't seem to have any proper accreditions. But man oh man are the pictures fun to look at. A Proposal
I would like to be the first to offer up Boston's David Ortiz for AL MVP. Of course, to do that I have to travel back in time to May and say it. Oh, wait. Yep. I was cursing him back then.
Well, I think it is safe to assume he is a legitimate candidate in a year where there is no breakaway MVP. He is the driving force on the wild card team. On a team loaded with hitters, he is the man that is in charge of protecting the most dangerous(Manny). Look at his stats after a Manny Intentional Walk.
Give him the trophy, and hopefully its not the last for the sox.

I had to follow the sox game on my cell phone last night becuase i was at dinner. When the sox gave up that extra run in the 9th I thought It was over and gave up, especially when my cell started giving me trouble.
I get home, watch a movie. After the movie I flip on Sportscenter,sox are the 2nd game to be done. I settle in to see the loss. Then Mr. Walker comes up. After signing Walker this winter I thought he'd be a decent addiiton at 2nd for the sox. Especially since his swing seemed made for Fenway and the monster. Of course hitting a two run homer to a pretty darn deep right field is pretty impressive.

Wait. Didnt Theo sign too many 1b/dh types? Ya. He probably should not have signed the last one. That David Ortiz guy has turned out to be a bum. I went to a sox game in May. Ortiz comes up with runners in scoring position and the sox done. I start calling him a bum. The people behind me disagreed. I know stand to tell them; they were right. Wow. He is the sox MVP. Easily.
I hope he gets serious consideration for MVP for the AL. He is hitting about .600 after a Manny intentional walk.
Definatly the best offseason move the sox made.
Now I will get to use my playoff tickets.

Thoughts while watching the Emmy's
How ugly is Sarah Jessica Parker? She gives me nightmares.
Also ugly: Debra Messing and Kim Cattrel
Wanda Sikes (is that her name? Its not worth my effort to find out for sure), she didnt make the all ugly team from above (I am not saying she is a gorgeous woman though, not by a long shot), but she was dreadfully boring. I guess I just don't get her.
I did see her with Cosby. Man I wish he didnt have sunglasses on so I could see just how unimpressed he was with her.
hmmmm, Jon Stewart, funny guy liked his piece and speech.
I have to admit the emmy's were my secondary show this night though. The Miami Buffalo game had my main interest because "Conference games on the road are the toughest". Oh ya, the gambling helped too.
I think I remeber watching the emmy's last year as Everbody loves Raymond swept them last year. This year however, Debra Messing won best actress in a comedy. She even admitted it, She is not funny. She isnot even funny on her own show.
Will and Grace? More like Jack and Karen. Sure there is a reason they are the supporting cast but lets be honest, they carry the show. If its not a good Jack and Karen episode, then its not a good episode. They are the characters that make it a comedy. Will and Grace are not funny characters(or people in real life).
Terrible shame.
I also wonder why HBO shows are included in the Emmys. Doesn't seem fair. They are not held to the same standards the networks are. Sex and the City can show boobs, but Friends can't. Imagine the ratings for the network shows if boobs were allowed.
The sopranos with out the glorified violence? No show. (I am assuming there is extra non-network violence on the sopranos, as I have never seen the show. I am actully not a huge gangster/scarface genre fan anyways)
With that said I am sure these are fine shows, and worthy of mention, but still. It is apples and oranges as far as I am concerned and the HBO shows do not belong competing with the networks.

Thus when the Dixie Chicks made the comment "We are ashamed George Bush is from Texas", they were not saying anything was wrong with the United States. They are merely ashamed the fraud that is our 'president' is from their home state.

Monday Night Football
Well MNF just started for the year 2003. Already MNF had made the worst move of the year by not getting Melissa Stark back. A hot woman who knew football? Wow, That was good. Lisa Guerro, she just seems to be a bad attempt at eye candy. She doesn't seem to know ANYTHING about football and shes old. She looks old and shes not as hot as Melissa was.
The MNF intro used to be quite entertaining and enjoyable. Now they have Britney Spears doing part of the song. She ruins it. Hopefully this is just an attempt to start off the year wiht a bang. I hope she is not in every week's intros. Her voice is just all wrong for the song. Shes too quiet and throaty for such an UP song.

Record Industry getting smart?

It's about time the record industry started listening to all the reporters
saying "I bet this wouldn't be a problem if they lowered the price of CDs".
We all know now the cost that the companies incur while making the CDs is a
small fraction of the price that we end up paying. Even more annoying is
the fact that CDs cost the same to make as Cassettes yet cassettes are sold
for dollars less.
I myself haven't bought a CD in years (aside form the
Dixie Chicks latest CD). I also haven't downloaded much music since my
freshman year (5 years ago) so that isn't the sole reason I stopped buying
CDs. I think it might have to do with so much music being crap now.
Especially the insistence on one hit CDs. I wouldn't buy a CD unless I knew
there was more than 1 song I like was on my $20 CD.

The new ones come out at $15. People pay that, even though they could
download the movie. The record industry is selling an overpriced inferior
product. Nothing is terribly new and exciting with CDs anymore.
Bottom Line: you cn't sell cow pies at filet mignon prices.
Back to School = Away Message time
Since we are headed back to school, more peopel will have their aim on 24 horus a day and have many away messages up. I shoudl formulate the rules and list them out. however I do not feel like doing that right now. So let me get this one out now

Ok, I have been watching a lot of that paparazzi show on E!. She is always in it. I can't figure it out. What is this girls claim to fame? She lives on daddy's money, so that makes her famous? She's not really that pretty of a girl (check out the schnozz). She wears some god-awful outfits. I guess because she mingles with the celebrities (thanks to the allowance from dad, I suppose) she becomes qualified to be a celebrity herself.

Vin Diesel.
Wow, Vin Diesel. Where to start? First off, we will ignore the rumors that he was a gay porn star. I don't know if the rumors can be substantiated or not, but I don't care. Actually If they were, things would make sense. He is a buff guy but his voice. It is that voice that drives me insane. Its such a bad voice for him. Guy has an ugly mug, is pretty well jacked, and has a tiny little girls voice. His voice sounds like a stereotypical gay man's voice. It drives me insane. Well with more bombs under his belt than a middle east maniac, he should be fading off the screen again. At least until the next fast and the furious comes out. Then he will think he is a star again. Totally ignoring the fact that the only people I heard who like the movie are people who watch it for the cars. Oh well, a boy can dream, right Vin.
