Oprah's car "giveaway"

So in case you haven't heard now, all the guests of Oprah's show recently received brand new Pontiacs. Now these people were all selected by the need for a new car. Various reasons were used. It was not random guests though. Here is my thought on this. How is this Oprah's giveaway? The cars were donated, so she didn't exactly break the bank on this.

This is what I hate. Oprah gets all this credit, but what did she really do? She gave away FREE cars. Which, by the way, will have tax implications on the gift recievers, which proves that nothing life is free.
