So where does this leave the yankees?

I am still contending that the Yankees are too old and don't have good enough pitching to really be as good as they have in the past. If you look at the core of their team, they are OLD. Bernie Williams has injury questions already (shoulder, which some are saying is a major concern). Sheffield has had some injury concerns in the past, and can also be disruptive to the clubhouse which is a problem they yankees have not had the past few years. Lofton, Posada, Mussina, Rivera, Brown and Giambi all probably have left their best years behind them.

Sure these concerns still leave the Yankees the favorites to win the AL East (if not the AL and/or the world series), they are by no means the shoe-in some believe the ARod deal made them. By the way, Vegas still have the Sox as the favorite to win the world series.
